Born and raised in Kuwait, Haneen comes from one of the country’s best-known artistic dynasties. Her mother is TV presenter-actress Abrar Al-Mufidi, and her maternal grandfather is the late actor Ali Al-Mufidi; uncles Hussein, Sulaiman and Khaled Al-Mufidi are also actors, while cousin Faisal Farid is a film-maker. Growing up backstage and in recording studios, she learned piano, studied classical Arab maqam and started composing melodies in her teens.
Launching her career in 2021 through Kuwait’s VO talent incubator, Haneen Hussain burst onto the regional radar with Abdulaziz Louis and Bader Al-Shuaibi on the feel-good single “Bravo 3aleek,” a clip that has now topped 150 million YouTube views and logged more than 12 million streams on Anghami, instantly crowning her the freshest voice in Khaleeji pop . That same year she revealed her solo potential with the emotive debut single “Maksoura”. In 2022 she moved from viral newcomer to regional contender, releasing the romantic “Ba2olak Eih” and—more decisively—joining Ayed and Nasser Al Kubaisi on the Arabic version of FIFA’s World-Cup anthem “Arhbo,” becoming the only Kuwaiti female voice on the tournament’s official soundtrack .
She cemented her chart presence in 2023 with the club-ready hit “Faz,” released 26 April, which dominated Gulf playlists and collected millions of views . A year later Haneen delivered her first cohesive project, the five-track EP Awal Wahed (16 October 2024), balancing dance-floor energy (“Ananya”) with reflective ballads (“Dayem Tgheeb”) and showcasing her expanding artistic range .
